Elyse Kehe is a clarinetist from Lorain, Ohio. She attended Ohio University, Lorain County Community College, and Kent State University. The latter is where she obtained her Bachelor of Music in Music Education Degree - Magna Cum Laude - in 2009.
During her time at Ohio University, Elyse studied voice with Dr. Raymond Feener and was able to take some clarinet lessons with Dr. Rebecca Rischin. She was involved in the top choir: The Ohio University Singers, directed by Dr. Peter Jarjisian. While at LCCC, she studied voice with Mrs. Nancy Davis and studied clarinet with Mrs. Deb Shell. She was also involved with the Collegiate Chorale and Vocal Jazz Singers. Elyse studied the clarinet at KSU under Dr. Dennis Nygren. She was involved with the Marching Band, Concert Band, and Clarinet Ensemble. The instrumental track of study is what she pursued, and Elyse learned many band instruments during this time.
From 2007-2010, Elyse worked as the clarinet clinician for several Ohio high school band camps.
Elyse started her student teaching experience in summer, 2009. She taught at both the high school and middle school levels. Subjects she has experience teaching include: Music Appreciation, Music Theory, Band (Marching or Concert), and General Music.
Elyse has plenty of experience educating both inside and outside of the classroom, having taught both private lessons and within various school districts: TCISD, PISD, and HISD. She has taught students aged PK-3 through 12th grade.

- New Teacher of the Year Nominee (2011) – Kohfeldt Elementary School
Elyse has also been in past productions of:
"South Pacific" (chorus), "The Wizard of Oz" (Auntie Em/Glinda the Good Witch), "The Sound of Music" (Liesl Von Trapp), and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (Singing Fairy).
When she is not teaching, Elyse is spending time with her family, friends, or reading. She cannot wait to meet you!
