Andrew Dugas - (Guitar and Piano)

Andrew Dugas is a guitarist and composer based in Houston, Texas. He received his Bachelor’s
degree in music theory from the Moores School of Music in 2013. He studied guitar with M.
Wheeler and composition with M.K. Maroney, DMA. Andrew also took several piano
courses while in college.
With over 15 years of teaching and performance experience, he has maintained a studio of
guitar and piano students while performing with numerous ensembles in Houston and
across the country, most recently his band/collaborative ensemble, Apparitions, who have
worked most notably with Seth Manchester, Matt Colton and Michael Severson. Notable
awards and performances include the 2016 Oregon Bach Festival Composer’s Symposium,
where he worked with Molly Barth, second place in the Sarofim Young Composer’s
Competition, and Outstanding Soloist at the 2008 Addison Jazz Festival.

Through his own continual musical development, his teaching aims to ultimately encourage
students to find and pursue their own creative paths, whether it is the beginning of their
musical journey, or developing their instrumental proficiency to their highest capabilities.
