Marissa Suazo is currently studying Music Education at the University of Houston Moores School of Music. She is a soprano from Fort Worth, Texas. She has been studying voice for the last eleven years, and loves to sing both by herself and in choir. She has been a featured soloist for the Moores School Gala and premiered a new children’s opera, Henry the Steinway, at the Steinway store in downtown Houston. Marissa has a rich musical theatre background, having performed at Casa Manana in Fort Worth, TX and having sung Anita in West Side Story, Wendy Darling in Peter Pan, and several other named roles throughout her high school years. She is the current director of the UH Acabellas, an all girls pop a cappella group at the Moores School of Music. Marissa recently traveled with the MSM Concert Chorale to Debrecen, Hungary, where they competed in the 2018 Bela Bartok Competition and won the Grand Prix. Come summer 2019, Marissa will travel with the MSM Concert Chorale to Arezzo, Italy to compete in the European Grand Prix.
