Planting the seeds of creativity
Century Fine Arts: Expanding your creative mind through the study of music and theatre arts
WHY STUDY THE ARTS?
At Century Fine Arts we strive to make music and arts education fun so that you and/or your child can enjoy studying a specific arts discipline while experiencing the benefits such as those listed below.
-Musical training helps brain development. Recent studies indicate that musical training physically develops the left side of the brain known to be involved with processing language and comprehension.
-Students of the arts learn to think creatively and to solve problems by imagining various solutions. Questions about the arts do not have one right answer and this helps cultivate an open- minded individual.
-Students of the arts learn the value of sustained effort to achieve excellence and the concrete rewards of hard work.
-Music and theatrical ensemble work enhances teamwork skills and discipline. Orchestra, band, chorus and theatre groups incorporate an “all hands on deck environment.” Students must work together harmoniously towards a single goal: the performance.
-Practicing a discipline in the fine arts provides a means of self-expression, hence building self-esteem
-When a person performs or presents their creative work to an audience, that person learns to conquer fear and to take risks. Risk-taking is essential if a person is to fully develop his or her potential.
